Shanah Tovah! Rosh Hashanah is quickly approaching and the time to prep your High Holiday meal is now. Luckily for you, Carlino’s has created a special Rosh Hashanah menu with all of the great traditional items needed from soups & sides, main courses and desserts. Each of which are created with upmost respect to the tradition in mind, while also infusing some special Carlino’s pride and creativity into each dish. Check out some of our favorites below. Also, make sure to check out the entire Rosh Hashanah menu and place your order today!

1. Matzo Ball Soup

No Rosh Hashanah meal would be complete without Matzo Ball Soup. Carlino’s makes the traditional soup inside of a chicken broth.

For other soup options, we offer Vegan & Wheat Free soups, including both our Lentil Soup & Carrot Ginger Soup. Both have a great mix of quality ingredients and fresh herbs. Check out our Rosh Hashanah menu where you can order any of these soups by the quart to serve 2-4 people.

2. Challah Bread

On Rosh Hashana, the braided form of this bread exchanged for a round shaped Challah bread. The round form of Challah represents the cycle of life and the wholeness of the universe, and the seeds on top symbolize fertility and plenty. This very deep meaning behind this delicious item means it has to be held in top regard, and we do not take that responsibility lightly here at Carlino’s.

We offer both versions of the Challah Bread:

1. Traditional round and braided sweet bread.

2. Savory Challah Bread, which is the traditional sweet and savory bread, with the addition of figs, olive oil and sea salt.

3. Kugel

A favorite traditional Jewish side dish, our kugel will be the perfect side dish to any Rosh Hashanah meal. Carlino’s Sweet Noodle Kugel is a great vegetarian option. It consists of egg noodles, vanilla infused sweet cheese and fresh pineapples, topped with cinnamon and baked to perfection!

4. Salmon

Carlino’s puts a different spin on salmon. Our favorite recipe is an Orange Cranberry Salmon. We ensure that our salmon is sustainably raised and caught. Once we get this top quality product, we grill the salmon filet and top it with a sweet orange and cranberry marmalade – such a sweet, tasty addition!

Another way we serve our sustainably raised and caught, antibiotic free salmon is poached with a cucumber dill sauce. Along with the cucumber dill yogurt sauce, the salmon is topped with thinly sliced cucumbers as seen here:

Our salmon options are just two of several great Main Course options for your Rosh Hashanah dinner. Other options include Braised Beef Brisket, Grilled Honey Balsamic Chicken, and Apricot and Rosemary Glazed Roasted Chicken.

5. Chocolate Flourless Cake

Our Chocolate Flourless cake is one of our signature desserts. This decadent item is a dense chocolate truffle cake, 6’’ in diameter. Every slice of heaven is the perfect end of meal celebration to share.

If there’s one thing we understand at Carlino’s other than food, it’s the value and importance of time with family. We know the Rosh Hashanah High Holiday is vastly important to many of our neighbors, friends and their families, and we love getting the chance to share in this important day with you.

Please check out our Rosh Hashanah Menu to order what we discussed above and see many of our other great traditional options.
