But now that you\u2019ve had your fun, you\u2019re left with a bunch of apples and have nothing to do with them. Sure, you made that apple pie\u2026but what now? What do you do with all of those leftover Granny Smiths and Jonagolds besides waiting for them to go bad and eventually throwing them out? \u00a0Before you let hours of hard work scouring the orchard for those eight apples you ended up bringing home go to waste, take a look at a few of our favorite recipes that are different, simple, and delicious!

First, it\u2019s a twist on a classic, the grilled cheese! While you can easily just pop some apple slices into your normal grilled cheese, here is a recipe that includes another fabulous food; bacon!<\/p>\n

Ingredients:<\/p>\n

4 slices of bacon<\/p>\n

\u00bd cup grated Cheddar<\/p>\n

2 slices of bread<\/p>\n

\u00bc Granny Smith Apple peeled, cored, and sliced thin<\/p>\n

1 tablespoon butter<\/p>\n

Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Preheat oven to 325\u00b0 F. Arrange bacon in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Turn the bacon. Cook for about another 10 minutes, until crisp. Transfer bacon to a paper towel to drain.<\/li>\n
  2. Put half of the cheese on 1 slice of bread. Then put the apple slices on top of the cheese. Then top with the bacon. Put the rest of the cheese on top then place the other slice of bread on top. Spread the butter on the top and bottom of the sandwich.<\/li>\n
  3. Heat a large pan over medium heat. Add the sandwich and cook until golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3 or 4 minutes on each side. Use a spatula to press down on the sandwich to flatten it.<\/li>\n
  4. Enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Next, check out these homemade apple and sausage breakfast patties! Tip: Buy yourself a few more precious minutes of shut-eye and do the prep work the night before. This way, you can wake up feeling more refreshed AND have your breakfast that much faster!<\/p>\n

    Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1\/3 cup chopped onion<\/p>\n

    1 pound bulk pork sausage<\/p>\n

    1 medium (1 cup) apple, peeled and finely shredded<\/p>\n

    \u00bd teaspoon rubbed sage<\/p>\n

    Dash of ground red pepper<\/p>\n

    Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Shape into 12 patties. Cover. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.<\/li>\n
    2. Heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage patties and reduce to medium heat.\u00a0 Cook for 5 minutes then turn the patties over. Cook until they are no longer pink (3-5 minutes).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      2 medium tart apples, chopped<\/p>\n

      1 cup chopped strawberries<\/p>\n

      2 medium kiwi fruit peeled and chopped<\/p>\n

      1 small orange<\/p>\n

      2 tablespoons brown sugar<\/p>\n

      2 tablespoons apple jelly, melted<\/p>\n

      Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. In a bowl, combine apples, strawberries and kiwi. Grate orange peel to measure 1 \u00bd teaspoons; squeeze juice from orange. Add peel and juice to mixture. Stir in brown sugar and jelly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
